Southern chapter is among the 6 ministry chapters of YFC/Rwanda. It was established in January 2016, ministering in 4 districts (Nyamagabe, Nyanza, Huye and Kamonyi) of the southern province of Rwanda.
Its' aim is to reach every young person in this region with the gospel of Christ Jesus. We minister through high schools, universities, local communities and youth ministries in churches.
In line with YFC Rwanda’s vision and mission, we have 8 programs which help us to reach these young people;
Outreach: We organize connecting events as a way of introducing YFC ministry to the youth and churches.
Holiday program: We gather students in holidays to explain to them the life of Christ and empower them for evangelism.
Ministry clubs: Through 4 local communities, action groups meet together for bible studies, discipleship classes and school clubs in 8 high schools. We also have a university club called YFC-UR/HUYE Club which meets for Bible Focus Groups (BFGs), fellowship, project serve and other related activities of evangelism. They are regularly followed by our volunteers.
Discipleship and leadership: Training for youth workers and youth pastors.
Prayer movements: We have 3 operations in this program (Operation Hannah, Watchman and Daniel). More emphasis is placed on Operation Daniel where youth meet to intercede for salvation of other young people.
Project serve: We organize different activities for young people to serve their communities and even help them to learn and teach others what they are learning.
Training and partnership: As a way of equipping local churches, we share resources we have with the less privileged and also meet for prayers and discuss on strategies of supporting each other.
